About RipEnc

RipEnc is a Bourne shell script that automates the ripping of CDs, the encoding of the ripped files into mp3 or ogg, the naming of the audio files, and the assignment of id3 tag metadata.

RipEnc uses cda or wget for CDDB look-ups. RipEnc uses cdparanoia, cdda2wav, dagrap, or tosha for ripping. RipEnc uses bladeenc, 8hz-mp3, l3enc, xingmp3enc, lame, and mp3enc to encode the wav files into mp3s, or oggenc to encode into the Ogg format. RipEnc also uses eyeD3, mp3info, or id3ren for id3 tagging.

RipEnc is licensed under the GNU GPL version 2 or later.
